After more than 30 years of successfully operating, advising, and investing in companies across all stages of development, Mr. Hernandez founded Black Dragon Capital to create a private equity firm that combines deep operational expertise with strategic technology investment. 

Through this work, Mr. Hernandez has helped shape and build innovative financial technology platforms, including DragonPay. As Founder and Chairman, he is focused on modernizing the payments infrastructure available to credit unions and enabling financial institutions to deliver faster, lower-cost, and more flexible payment experiences. DragonPay is a cloud-native payments platform designed to connect credit unions, merchants, and members through real-time payment rails, including stablecoin settlement, while preserving the institution’s brand, member relationships, and data. 

Mr. Hernandez brings decades of experience in financial technology and digital payments to DragonPay, including his leadership of Open Solutions, the founding of Payveris, and his work with numerous financial institutions and technology companies. His experience has centered on using technology to make financial institutions more competitive, connected, and capable of serving their communities. 

He is a sought-after advisor to global organizations and governments and has served on boards including HSBC, Infosys, and Edison. He is the author of four books and frequently appears on Fox Business, CNBC, ABC News, and Bloomberg TV discussing technology, economics, strategic planning, and globalization.
